The Brewery

The Brewmaster at Gusswerk is Reinhold Barta, a brewmaster of passion. After more than ten years of organic brewing experience, most recently in a large Austrian private brewery. Reinhold’s goal is to make sustainable and biodynamically produced beer in Austria. He believes beer should be drawn from the power of origin, naturally with organic ingredients and old, natural production process, which reflect the circle of nature.


 

The Facts

What Is Brewed: Exclusively organic beer, with mainly Austrian ingredients from biodynamic farming.


How It’s Brewed: Without synthetic aids. With old and traditional methods so gentle that valuable vitamins, minerals and trace elements are preserved and can develop the unique and true taste of the beer. No water treatment or other means as are currently in the production of beer.
 

Where It's Brewed: Until August 2013, the brewery was on the grounds of a "casting plant”, century-old former bell foundry in the north of Salzburg. From September 2013 we brew at our new headquarters in Hof bei Salzburg.
 

Who Brews it: Brewmaster Reinhold Barta, certified beer sommelier and a Masters Degree in Food Science and Biotechnology. Lecturer in training for certified beer sommelier and Univ. Lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Vienna. Many years of experience in domestic and foreign breweries. Brewmaster and ideologue of passion.
